Do you have enough of this in your life?

I have a question for you – are you having enough fun in your life?

As a “go get ‘em!” kind of society we can have a tendency to make life serious and hard. We think that the more work we put into something, the more we will get out of it.

We rely on phrases like:

“No pain, no gain”

“Hustle and heart will set you apart”

“Nothing worth having comes easy”

But what if that wasn’t the way to get where you want to go?

Yes, focus and disciplined work are part of the pathway to your goals, but what if you were missing a bigger, more important part of the equation? Something that would allow you to feel like you were moving forward, but with grace and ease and flow, instead of fighting for every inch of progress?

If you are feeling frustrated or stuck when it comes to your goals, there are two big components that you may be missing:

Fun – Bring more {real} fun into your life! When we are having fun, we feel free and are better able to see life’s possibilities, which means we are also more likely to see and take advantage of positive opportunities in front of us.

Here’s how to add more fun into your life:

    • Get clear on what really is FUN for you. What you do for fun may be completely different from what you do for self-care. Self-care is typically more about going in, grounding down, connecting to your self, whereas fun is usually about adventure, experience and connection with your environment, community and nature. Think about what you like to do on vacation, what you loved to do as a kid, what makes you laugh so hard you can’t think about anything else.
    • Go play! Write down a list of five of your fun activities that you want to do this month, and pick one of those you can do this week, today even. Schedule in your fun and go play! (crazy we need to schedule fun but we DO)

Faith – As my friend Gabby says “making the shift from fear to faith gives us a sense of power in a world that all too often makes us feel utterly powerless. When you live with faith you’re trusting in the power of your thoughts and energy to support your experiences. In a faithful state you can suspend disbelief and surrender your fear.” If you are living from a place of fear instead of faith, my dear friend Gabby Bernstein’s new book, The Universe Has Your Back, will help you turn that around. I know having faith and leaning into trust and ease connects so deeply to our center that’s longing for FUN.

Gabby also shares that “Each story, meditation and lesson in the book guides readers to release the blocks to what we all long for most — happiness, security and clear direction. The lessons help readers relinquish the need to control so they can relax into a sense of certainty and freedom.”

On a personal note, this is Gabby’s fifth book and she continues to blow me away with her capacity to share, support and show up no matter what. As an added bonus, when you order your copy you’ll also receive access to her newest online course: Transform Fear into Faith.
