After nine incredible years in our apartment, we’re finally moving to a new home. Same building, same Brooklyn, but a whole new chapter.
Within our 2 bedroom 2.5 bathroom unit we lived so much life. Countless Power Parfaits made and eaten, hundreds of Rule of 5 plates shared, and so many everyday moments that became the memories of our family. That little space held our laughter, our tears, our babies, our puppy, our dreams.

And even though the logistics of moving (especially in NYC!) are intense, the bigger challenge has been holding all the emotions that come with closing one chapter and opening another. I’m still crying and barely sleeping my way through it!
But this move has reminded me that every transition in life, big or small, is an opportunity to practice wellness.
Here’s a few things that supported me through this big change that can apply to any season of transition:
✨ Let yourself be supported.
We don’t have to carry everything alone – physically or emotionally. Just like I leaned on the @roadwaymoving team to handle the heavy lifting, it’s okay to ask for (and accept) help in other parts of life too. And by the way, they were an AMAZING team. So helpful through the whole process, handling every single item with so much care and even finishing way ahead of schedule! I can’t recommend them enough. ✨ Breathe through the overwhelm.
Change can send your nervous system into overdrive. Coming back to your breath with slow, intentional inhales and exhales, reminds your body that you are safe, even when everything around you is shifting.
✨ Move at your own pace.
I still have a mile long to-do list, and that’s okay. We don’t need to have it all done right away. Whether it’s a move, a career pivot, or a personal transformation, give yourself permission to land slowly.
✨ Celebrate the fresh start.
It’s easy to rush past milestones into the “what’s next.” But even in the exhaustion, take a moment to honor how far you’ve come and welcome what’s new. For me, that was curling up on the couch with my pup and letting it sink in: this is home.
Big changes will always stretch us. But with the right support, a few deep breaths, and a little grace for ourselves, they can also be powerful invitations to grow.
Here’s to all of us navigating change with as much calm and intention as we can muster.
Deep breaths, we’ve got this!
