What life-changing practice I’m committing to this week

The world feels a little wild right now. It seems like every day there’s another natural disaster or political scandal or depressing statistic. I try my best to stay up to date on world affairs without getting caught up in every headline, but sometimes it all can be a bit much, without even taking into account everything we have going on in our personal lives.

So today I want to check in with you and ask, how are you comforting yourself in the chaos (and yes, back to school with the kiddos counts as chaos in an of itself)? Are you eating to cover up emotions? Have you turned to certain foods to feel good, or numb out? Do you know you need to make a change, but not sure where or how to start? Does it all feel really overwhelming, which leads you back to the cookies you were trying to avoid?

It’s easy to wish that someone would show up and muscle that cookie out of your hand, go to the gym for you, or magically make a healthy lunch appear in your office fridge. Heck, sometimes I WISH I could invent that!

There is, however, something you can you do, no matter what’s going on in your world.

Instead of beating yourself up about what you’re doing or not doing, you can focus on the positive. You can choose to bring your attention to what you’re doing right and what you’re trying to restore. You can re-calibrate your body and your mind to see the good.

So where to begin? What’s one *little* positive thing that you can focus on this month? Something that will have you feeling better in your body by the end of the week, more in touch with your food choices and more able to handle whatever life is throwing at you?

You can focus on CHEWING your food.

This is the practice I come back to whenever I find myself feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how I can feel better in my body. This one, little thing has the power to change everything.

While this is a simple practice, it’s not always easy! It took me years to really learn how to eat in this mindful way, and it’s still something I’m working on every day. This is why I created The Chewing Challenge – a completely *FREE* virtual coaching program where I’ll teach you how to slow down at meal times so that you can reconnect to your intuition, that inner wisdom that knows which foods to eat and which to avoid, when to eat and when to stop.

You’ll likely also be more satisfied from your meals, feel full for longer, and have more energy to focus on the things in your life that do matter to you without a single diet change.

Join me for The Chewing Challenge.

We start one week from today on Tuesday, October 3rd!
