Miso Turmeric Tahini Dressing from Go with Your Gut

Wanna know a secret? Most of the time, I make really “boring” dinners. I’ll steam some greens, throw some quinoa in the rice cooker, pull out the jar of sauerkraut, and open a can of sardines. If I get “fancy” and have time to get to a fish market, maybe I’ll sear a piece of salmon. If I ate that all together on a plate it would be delicious, but honestly, it may not feel like a “meal.” So, how do I elevate any meal, add richness, flavor, and turn it from “boring” into truly “something”? This Miso-Turmeric-Tahini dressing. Rich and creamy, it brings any plate of food together and adds good-quality fats, from the sesame seeds in the tahini, to your dish.

Miso Turmeric Tahini Dressing from Go with Your Gut

Makes 3 to 4 servings depending on usage

Ingredients:

1 garlic clove, minced

1 teaspoon ground turmeric or about 1-inch turmeric root, grated

1 tablespoon miso paste, optional

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

3 tablespoons well-stirred tahini

1 to 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

Sea Salt and red pepper flakes

Directions:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk together or use a food processor.
  2. Add water as needed to thin it to the consistency desired. It will thicken as it sits so I tend to add a little extra water.
  3. Use immediately, or cover and refrigerate.
