Orange-Spice Chia Smoothie

Orange-Spice Chia Smoothie

Prep time: 5 minutes

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds, plus more for garnish, optional
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for garnish, optional
  • 1 teaspoon chopped, pealed gingerroot (about 1 1/2-inch piece)
  • 1 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
  • 2 seedless oranges, peeled and segmented

Directions:

  1. Blend the coconut milk, chia seeds, honey, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, oranges and 3 ice cubes in a blender on low speed until everything begins to combine.
  2. Raise the setting to high and blend until everything is well combined and the smoothie begins to have a creamy consistency.
  3. Taste; if you like it colder, add more ice cubes and blend until smooth.
  4. Pour into two glasses and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon and chia seeds if using.
