Reflections From a Magical Weekend

Recently, I had the absolute honor of hosting 35 amazing women in the Rockstar Coaching Collective for a 2-day retreat. We meditated, we moved, we laughed, we cried, and most importantly, we connected.

Every retreat is different. Depending on the time of year, what’s been coming up for people in the weekly group coaching calls, and I also have a process of going very deep into myself to see what wants to be shared. I liken it to a birthing process – what do I need to go through in order to show up as powerfully as possible for the group and what’s in there for them?

And while it’s not about me, it is very personal. So personal that all of the topics we’ll discuss, my notes, the schedule, everything lives in my personal journal.

Community was the biggest theme of the weekend. Nine out of ten women who we talk to about Rockstar tell us they are searching for “community” and that’s because we are hard-wired as humans to belong. Being supported by those around you is in your DNA!

We talked about what community really means and got into the nitty-gritty of how to create  community where you are. Look people in the eyes. If you go to the same coffee shop every day, ask people their names (or at the gym or the dry cleaner or…you get the idea). In doing this, you will create an energy exchange that makes people feel seen and as you belong. This energy is what feeds us to go out and do the things we are here to do.

Which brings me to the second biggest theme – energy. We took an honest inventory of the things in our life that energize us and the things that zap our energy. Acknowledging the things that aren’t lighting you up is the first step in giving them space to shift. It might not happen overnight, but it is possible.

I recently realized that my weekends are not energizing for me because I am in full mom-mode and wife-mode and come Monday, I am not in a place to charge straight into work. Acknowledging that and working through how I can create more space on Mondays has been a huge game-changer in my life.

Speaking of energy, we’re so grateful to our sponsors who filled our bellies with the most amazing, nourishing food and treats to go home with.

Simple Mills; Hu Kitchen; Cocojune; Purely Elizabeth; Redmond Real Salt; New Chapter; Pukka Herbs; Foursigmatic; Matchaful

Sometimes we fall into our communities, and sometimes we choose them. Rockstar is a chosen community and I am so grateful to each and every person who has chosen to be a part of it. Your energy feeds this community. You belong here.
