How I Breathe Through Transitions [New Podcast Ep]

Hey loves!

How are you!? So many transitions this time of year OMG. Some I’m loving… like the familiar and welcome routine of back-to-school and the transitional fall fashion, and some a little less, like the overwhelming to-dos for the kiddos and very very full days. Mostly through it all I’m doing my best to BALANCE (we did just begin Libra season after all!) with a healthy dose of knowing some days you’ve nailed it, and some, well, are just absolute sh*t. AND THAT’S OKKKAAAAY. (promise!)

I dive deep into the elusive topic of balance and so much more with my OG wellness world friend Elizabeth Stein, Founder and CEO of everyone’s favorite granola Purely Elizabeth, and host of the Live Purely Podcast

My episode was just released and we covered a lot of ground from my wellness journey to what I’m focusing on now (major for me), and some tips that have guided me through transitions over the years, both personally and professionally.

Also, whenever I record a podcast I inevitably share some verrrry random facts about myself 🤣so let’s dive into some of the highlights from this episode:

  • One mantra I picked up from my time at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) was “feel the fear and do it anyway.” From being in a full blown circus (yes, I did that) to embracing entrepreneurship, I’ve learned more often than not you just need to dive in and gain real-life experience. It’s not about feeling “ready” and having everything perfectly figured out, but about taking action and learning along the way. (IIN is now offering a sample class which you can try here! Furthermore, they are offering each of you 20% off with code ROBYNYOUKILIS20.)
  • I have a photographic memory—yes, I can actually pinpoint where the TV remote was left between couch cushions! While I’m still figuring out how to best harness this quirky skill for myself, it’s proven quite handy for others (I blow Scott’s mind on a daily basis at this point)
  • As an entrepreneur, I’ve navigated so many phases of my biz, and in the past 6 or so months I’ve been reevaluating how to better balance work and life. Since my family has been asking more of me I’ve been reminded that sometimes we need to shift gears in one area to make more space for what truly matters.
  • I always tell my business coaching clients to keep lists of what’s For Now and what’s For Later, but it’s important to do this in our personal lives too. Just because something isn’t happening right now doesn’t mean it can’t happen at some point. G-d willing life is very long and we have many more years and opportunities to reach our goals and make dreams a reality.
  • The process of healing and finding harmony within ourselves is ongoing. It took me yearsss to move away from dieting mentalities and embrace a more intuitive approach to eating. Becoming a mother in my late 30s and having a second child in my early 40s, especially during the pandemic, really challenged my physical recovery and forced me to slow down and prioritize self-care (so much of this is in my second book you can check out here!).
  • As always, my one non-negotiable and tip for being your healthiest you is don’t forget to put FUN on the calendar! It might not always come easy (it rarely does), but it’s essential for a life filled with JOY.

These are just some of the highlights, but you can listen to the full episode here

Lastly, as I step more fully into this next stage of my business and life, I can’t help but reflect on everything that has led to this moment. So whether you’ve been following along for 15 years or 15 minutes, I really appreciate each of you. Thank you for being a part of this beautiful journey.

Xoo,
Robyn
