How are you? You may have noticed that I’ve been quieter the past few weeks. I’ve been in serious mama/it’s-the-end-of-summer mode. As much as I love traveling and soaking in the yumminess of summer, I’m deeply looking forward to returning to Brooklyn and resuming more of a “normal” routine (especially with the kids) in the coming weeks.
As we transition into a new season (fall, at least here in New York), it’s the perfect time to refresh our routines and our wardrobe go-to’s. Here’s a round up of wellness tips, fashion favorites, and beauty picks for embracing this change in style…
Wellness Tips
Breathe in the Fresh Air: Start your day by taking in the cooler morning air. Connecting to any kind of change in weather, no matter how subtle, helps regulate your body to the change in seasons. Just pause for a moment, notice the change (like last night it was very breezy and had a cooler feel!), and let it invigorate you.
Grounding with Cacao: Find a moment of grounding and comfort with my favorite cacao recipe. Cacao in this pure form has so many antioxidants and “bliss chemicals”, I find it especially grounding during times of transition.
Get your gut in order: Want to dive deep into gut health on a whole other level? The Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) is running their Gut Health program again starting on August 26th! Fashion Favorites
Lululemon Align Leggings: I know I know, they’re certainly not the newest or coolest kids on the block, but let me tell you, I have tried every yoga pant on the market from high to low and these leggings are still my constant go to and the ones I buy the most no matter the time of year.
A Fun Dress: I found a dress by La Fleury in Ibiza earlier this summer and am obsessed. They’re sold out of the color I have but you can buy a different color here or a similar style here. You can wear these with a belt on a summer date night, a comfy pair of sandals to the playground with your kids, and even into fall with boots and a trench (FYI you might want a bodysuit and/or leggings underneath depending on your comfort level).
Jelly Flats from Los Angeles Apparel: These jelly flats are not only chic and minimalist, but they are also super comfortable and an incredible price! I wore them almost daily in Ibiza and they’re perfect for any end-of-summer trips to the beach (and the darker fall colors make them a cute transitional shoe too).
Melissa Chunky Platform Sandals: These chunky platform sandals are super comfortable and bring a bit of an edge to any outfit. I’ve worn them to concerts and my feet were still very happy at the end of the night. I plan on wearing them into fall with cute socks, my favorite jeans and light layers.
Green Bandana Wide Brim Hat: I stay stylish and sun-protected with this green bandana wide brim hat. It’s a great accessory for those sunny days and adds cute color to any outfit. I also love that I can roll it and keep it in my bag so I have sun protection anytime I need it.
Amazon Frilly Ankle Socks: I certainly didn’t discover these socks, basically every fashion stylist on IG did, but in case you didn’t know about them yet, I had to tell you. I love how these socks add a touch of “look how cute I am but I didn’t try THAT hard” to any outfit. Shorts, skirts, dresses, sweatpants, wide-leg pants – they really work with anything.
Beauty Picks
Jones Road 3-Piece Kit: I’ve been on hot on Jones Road products lately and if you want somewhere to start to simplify your makeup routine, this kit is it. Whenever you’re short on time or just want a fresh and natural look Bobbi Brown made it super simple, chic, and clean.
Jones Road Miracle Balm (3 Palette): I was recently sent a couple of Miracle Balms to try and totally fell in love. Then they came out with this palette and I was like OMG how perfect. Make sure you “crack” the pigment before using and balm away!
RescueMD Restorative Lip Treatment: This lip treatment is my go-to year round for hydrated, nourished and healthy lips. I especially love that it’s not sticky and absorbs quickly. I literally carry it in every purse!
