My Night Out Checklist

I often receive DMs, especially after a big event, asking:

“Your life looks so fun! I wish I could be as spontaneous as you!”

The truth is, it all looks spontaneous, but it’s actually crazy planned. Like MONTHS in advance. For example, recently I went to a Lane 8 concert in Forest Hills Stadium.

My night out checklist

It was amazing. We saw an incredible DJ and then got to meet up with our best friend to celebrate his birthday. It was one of those OUT OUT kind of nights.

That night? Took WEEKS of planning. Here’s a peek of my personal checklist to make sure this night happened…

-Confirm sitter

-Plan outfits for me

-Pack kids

-Lunch for the kids and babysitter

-Answer my husband’s 800 q’s about what shoes he should wear

Look at local events for the kids for the next day, so it’s already planned

The truth is, making sure you have time for yourself is a SKILL. It’s a skill I’ve learned from years of fighting for my me time, from strategically planning months ahead to line up flights, babysitters, kid’s activities to knowing how to collaborate with your partner to give you the time you need.

I decided years ago that I refuse to be one of those women who yearn for their life before kids. I love my kids, I love my husband, I love my life—but I still need some FUN. Something that makes me feel like ME.

I’m here to tell you it’s okay to want more.

In fact, I’d argue that doing YOU outside of your family, partner and business allows you to show up in all those places better.

Because when your soul, your spirit is thriving…. Everything else in your life does too.

Getting to a place where you feel unashamed taking time for you takes more than just strategic planning – it also requires some massive mindset work, especially for those of us who were taught from a very young age that putting others first is what made you “good.”

I’ve spent a long time practicing and mastering these techniques, and that’s exactly what I’m going to share with you in my upcoming webinar: THIS IS WHO I AM NOW.
