These are a few of my favorite things

One of the most rewarding parts of my coaching practice is hosting high level, in person, retreat weekends. It’s a chance to go deep and go BIG, in so many ways.

I hosted one of these weekends with the lovely ladies from my coaching program, Thin from Within. It was such an immense privilege to feel all the feels with them face-to-face. Sometimes all we need is a space and place to pause and listen to our souls. We laughed. We cried. We connected. And of course, we noshed and indulged in some of my all-time favorite health foods and products.

It’s much easier to live a super healthy lifestyle these days because of all the amazing brands out there that are dedicated to developing products that make wellness more accessible {and help heal the common ailments we all face}. I loved being able to share some of my favorite products with my Thin From Within ladies in real life at our retreat, and excited to share them with you all here!

Farmhouse Culture: (Gimme that good gut bacteria)

krout krisps

If you’ve been following me for a while now you see that I eat fermented foods Every. Damn. Day. While I love getting my hands dirty and making my own whole brined veggies and sauerkraut, it just doesn’t happen as often as I would like it to. So what’s a busy gal or guy to do when they need to get in some of that good gut bacteria?

I’ve been crushing on Farmhouse Culture for a while now because of their delicious line of probiotic-rich, gut healthy foods like fermented kraut and veggies, gut shots and the latest… kraut krisps! Plus, all the goods are organic, non-GMO and gluten-free. An entire shelf in my fridge is dedicated to the many different flavors of Farmhouse kraut and kimchi… no joke (and this shelf makes me ridiculously happy).

Vital Protein Collagen Peptides (For shiny hair and healthy joints)

vital proteins

As we age, the natural production of collagen (an essential protein that helps with the restoration of dead skin cells and supports hair health) in our body decreases so I need something really quick and easy to help ensure the health and vitality of my skin and hair.

Not to mention as a new mama, my skin and hair-care routine has definitely taken a back seat… I just don’t have the time to do face and hair masks, or even wash my hair AND shave in the same shower session! It doesn’t seem like this issue is changing anytime soon, so how can we new mamas still look our best?

Vital Protein Collagen Peptides is a powdered supplement that is easy to implement into your daily routine. Not only does it promote vibrant skin and hair, it also protects the health of our tendons, cartilage, bones, and joints. I’ve been putting a scoop or two into my smoothies, matcha or tea and this has become my new unexpected skincare routine! They also have a bunch of different forms of collagen and awesome on-the-go packets.

Manolla by Senbi (Granola with only good-for-you ingredients)

manolla

Granola is a key component in my insanely delicious, favorite breakfast – my Power Parfait! Since it’s not the same without granola, I’m always on the hunt for a low-sugar, gluten-free granola that’s made without canola oil and other funky, unnecessary ingredients. OMG can they be hard to find!

A fellow IIN graduate reached out to me about her granola, Manolla by Senbi, with only good for you ingredients. It’s absolutely delicious, comes in several really unique flavors and I totally feel at ease adding a handful to my power parfait – win! And don’t forget to watch my step-by-step video tutorial on how I make my fave breakfast here.

Enzymedica (Bye bye, bloat)

enzymedica

Beating the bloat can be a major struggle. I’ve pretty much learned how to get my bloating issues under control between eating gut-healthy foods and chewing plus drinking lots of water. Every once in awhile, a day comes along when I just know I’m going to indulge, and my belly will likely be less than happy unless I’m armed with these guys.

Digestive enzymes are great to take before a big meal. My FAV digestive enzyme brand is Enzymedica — they even have a formula specifically designed to help you digest gluten.

Taking a digestive enzyme will help break up your food so your belly doesn’t have to work as hard. Less work for your belly means more energy for you! I usually feel puffy and bloated when I eat too much gluten, and I’ve found that taking these helps significantly – SCORE!

Foursigmatic Mushroom Coffee (Caffeine Fix… without the jitters)

four sigmatic

I really enjoy coffee, but I also know that it does a number on my adrenals and can act as a gateway to cravings. I try to limit my coffee intake and instead opt for tea or matcha. But some days, there’s just no avoiding the need for a good ole cup of coffee – am I right? Problem is, now that I don’t drink it regularly, I’m more sensitive to it and end up feeling a little jittery and nutty.

Foursigmatic Mushroom Coffee! Shrooms are having a moment in the wellness world right now. Not only are they incredible superfoods, but they are a great source of Vitamin D, quell inflammation, balance blood sugar, protect and detox our bodies from toxins and pathogens we face every day and they are adaptogenic, which means they help us to adapt to the various stressors of modern life. WOW.

Foursigmatic’s blend of mushroom powder and coffee is surprisingly tasty so now I can get my caffeine fix AND major health benefits… minus the jitters and tummy problems.

Revive Kombucha (Curb your soda cravings)

revive kombucha

I drink a ton of water – like all the time. It can get boring… and sometimes even adding citrus doesn’t really do it for me. As a recovering diet soda addict, I still experience cravings for a carbonated, sweet bev, but they all have way too much sugar and other ingredients that I try to avoid.

Whenever I’m tired of water or I need a little energy boost, Revive Kombucha is a perfect option. Kombucha is a lightly fermented tea loaded with beneficial probiotic organisms. It has totally eliminated any of my lingering cravings for soda. But the best part is, it tastes INcredible — my favorite is the Tropic Wonder flavor (an earl grey tea and citrus remix that tastes like a creamsicle!).

Fawen + RX Bar (Lunch on the go)

fawen soup

When I leave the house to work for the day I almost always bring a packed lunch. I like to be prepared with foods that I know fuel my body and make me feel good. That being said, it doesn’t always happen. Sometimes there are no leftovers left… sometimes I don’t have enough time to make something from scratch and sometimes I’m just not in the mood for anything I already have in the fridge.

Most packaged, on-the-go foods are highly processed with tons of added sugars, oils, sodium, chemicals, preservatives – you name it.

#1: Drinkable soups by Fawen! OMG, guys. Drinkable soup?! How genius. Fawen makes these delicious pure plant-based soups that are chilled and ready-to-drink as is. They are packed with vegetables, loaded with fiber and much lower in sugar than juices and smoothies. I love having these around to grab, go and feel nourished.

rx bar

#2: Rx Bar is my new absolute favorite protein bar. I love this company’s transparency. Their no-bullshit packaging literally tells you exactly what’s in it right on the front. Egg whites, almonds, cashews, dates – sign me up. I love enjoying one right before a pilates or spin class without having to worry about what’s going into my body.
