What my Thanksgiving will not be about this year…

Here we go friends! Thanksgiving in the US is next week which means we’re officially entering the start of the holiday season! Can you hear the jingle bells coming too?

First (no matter where you live, shout out to my global community!), I want to ask what Thanksgiving means to you? But maybe even more importantly, what doesn’t it mean to you?

I know for me it means a time of family, connection, relaxation and some serious foodathon action. This year I’ll be in Florida with my in-laws AND my mom will be with us  too. I’m so happy we can all hang. 🙂 One thing I know I don’t want this week to mean is returning back to NYC with food regret.

Yes, I know it’s a time to indulge and to enjoy stress free BUT I also know that one chocolate chip cookie (for me) often leads to many many more and worse than that, lots of obsessing and wasted brain space over those (delicious) chocolate chip cookies. Can you relate?

So, this year I’m committed to having an even happier and healthier Thanksgiving week and to make that a reality here’s my list of what I will and will not be doing:

  1. I will not use the term “holiday” as an excuse to overeat. To eat until I’m “stuffed” and uncomfortable. I will focus on this one simple thing that has changed my life (and the lives of so many others), and trust that by slowing down I’ll know that I’ve had enough food.

  2. I will not serve myself or eat foods that I “like”. I will serve myself foods that I absolutely LOVE (hello sweet potato anything!).

  3. I will not eat ALL the sweets. I will eat some that I really love (see #2!), and just on the night of Thanksgiving.

And one more big will, I will 100% share some awesome holiday recipes with you! 🙂

Head here to grab the best Cauliflower Mash, Dijon Roasted Brussels Sprouts and the yummiest (and secretly healthy, WHOA), Apple and Pear Crumble

Now I want to hear from you! What’s your “will not and will” list? Share in the comments or hit me up on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter so we can all support each other to have our happiest and healthiest holiday season yet.
