My Experience During Quarantine Looked Different

Eryn here from Team Your Healthiest You! Robyn is still enjoying extra time with family and working on some fun new projects and because we can all use a little more support right now, she asked me to pop in and share about my experience during this year in hopes that it might help or inspire you.  As a single gal my experience during quarantine looked just a little bit different than Robyn and her family’s. 

For many years, Robyn was my personal coach and I went through every program she ever created (starting with the Chewing Challenge – life changing). She inspired me to become a health coach in 2017 and it’s been so cool over the last year to be behind the scenes of Your Healthiest You managing the business while getting to work with some really amazing clients.

Early on, it was “anything goes” in my house. That’s to say, I had no idea how long we’d be staying home and with all of the uncertainty, I was basically in survival mode. Chocolate for breakfast? Sure! A third cup of coffee at 3 in the afternoon. Why not? I was less than motivated to create an intentional life when it felt like this just might be a phase. Needless to say, my sleep suffered. My energy was zapped. My focus was non-existent. And I was overwhelmed. Can you relate?

Realizing that we weren’t going back to the way of life before March and accepting we may not be leaving our homes for the foreseeable future wasn’t easy but it’s made all the difference.

I’ve used this time to get clear on my intentions, to focus on some longer term goals and to create boundaries that keep me sane. The result is having more energy than I’ve had in as long as I can remember, feeling connected and present to those I love most and days that are filled with ease and flow.

Also, just for fun, I wanted to share my recipe for a refreshing Ginger Turmeric Tonic with you. It’s added a little much needed lift and self-love to my days, just look at that color! 

  • 2 inch piece of ginger
  • 1 inch piece of turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Dash of black pepper

Directions:

  • Blend ginger and turmeric with a bit of water in your high-speed blender and strain through nutmilk bag (or if you have a juicer, juice a bunch and have a batch for the week!)
  • Add honey and a bit of hot water to melt the honey
  • Add a dash of pepper (helps to absorb the turmeric!)
  • Fill a large glass or mason jar with cold water or sparkling water if you’re feeling fancy 😉
  • Enjoy!
